What is the real problem?
A Google Ads account produces data every day, but most businesses have no time to read it. Wasted search terms, a winning campaign capped by budget and a conversion action receiving no data go unnoticed for months. The problem is not a lack of knowledge but a lack of time to look.
A furniture store owner, for example, busy all day with customers, suppliers and deliveries, can only look at the Google Ads dashboard once a week. In that hour the goal is not to read the report but merely to check whether anything big is wrong. The Claude connection shrinks that hour to a few questions.
The solution: connect to Claude, ask, get the answer
Once you add the Tecrube connector to Claude, your account comes into the chat. “List the keywords and search terms that spent without converting in the last 30 days” is answered from live data in seconds. Reading reports spends no credits and needs no approval.
If you want a change, you say “add these as negatives”; Tecrube produces a preview through Claude, you approve, and the change is applied and written to the audit log.
Setup in six steps
1. Open a free Tecrube account; your connector address is shown in the /app panel. 2. In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors. 3. Choose “Add custom connector”, name it Tecrube and paste the address.
4. Open a new chat and enable the connector. 5. Type “connect my Google Ads account”; grant access in Google's OAuth window, no password is shared. 6. Ask your first question. If you use Claude Code, replace steps 2 and 3 with claude mcp add --transport http tecrube plus the address in the terminal, then authenticate with /mcp.
What the connector covers
Reads in Google Ads: campaign, ad group, keyword and search term performance, conversion actions, change history, Quality Score. Writes: adding negatives, changing budgets and bids, pausing campaigns, creating RSAs, building campaigns; all through preview → approve → apply.
The same address covers Meta, Microsoft, TikTok and LinkedIn ad accounts as well as GA4, Tag Manager, Search Console, YouTube and Business Profile. Beyond Claude it works in ChatGPT and Cursor.
Frequently asked
Will Claude change my ads on its own? No; every write waits for your approval and budget increases above fifty percent are rejected. How many accounts can I connect? One ad account per platform on Pro; every client under an MCC on Agency. Can I cancel the connection? Yes, from the panel in one click; your data is sent nowhere else.
Does it work in Claude Code or Cursor? Yes; the same address works in the terminal and editor, with no repeat Google grant. Do reads spend credits? No; reports, audits and listings are free, and credits go only to changes.
Plans and the bottom line
The free account gives 75 credits that never expire and needs no card. Pro is $49 a month, Agency $99 a month, Enterprise from $299. Setup takes under ten minutes and no code is involved. The bottom line: instead of finding time to look at your account, you ask it questions.
The 75 free credits comfortably cover an account audit, a few search term analyses and a first negative list, so you can decide on a plan after that experience.
The first ten minutes after connecting
Instead of asking for changes the moment setup ends, start by getting to know the account. First question: “list my connected Google Ads accounts and the active campaigns in each.” That confirms you connected the right account. Second: “table spend, conversions and cost per conversion by campaign for the last 30 days.” Third: “show the twenty search terms that spent the most without converting.”
The three answers give you the overall picture and the most obvious source of waste within ten minutes, and none of them spends a credit. A carpet cleaning business, for example, might discover at this step that a meaningful share of its monthly budget goes to informational searches such as “how to wash a carpet”.
Making the first change safely
Choose a low-risk change for your first write: adding a few off-intent search terms as negatives is ideal. When you say “add these five terms to the Search campaign as negative phrase match”, a preview arrives through Claude stating clearly which campaign, which terms and which match type.
After approving, say “show the latest change in the audit log” to see the record. This small trial is the shortest way to see the preview → approve → apply flow on your own account and build trust. Move on to bigger changes, such as budget shifts or a new campaign build, once you are used to the flow.
Keep the answers to these three questions as a note; when you ask the same questions a month later you will have a baseline to compare against and can see the first month's effect in numbers.
