Managing Meta Ads from Claude: what works and what does not
Claude cannot reach your Meta ad account on its own; it needs a connector in between. Most of the connectors people try either only read or expect you to run them on your own server.
Tecrube is a hosted connector: you add one address to Claude, authorise your Meta ad account, and Claude reads your campaigns and ad sets and manages budgets, status, targeting, audiences and new draft campaigns through conversation. Every write is previewed before it applies.
This page covers what actually works, what is not in the toolset today, and how to set it up. In short: on Meta we work at campaign and ad set level; we build website (pixel) and lookalike audiences and create carousel and video ads. There is no tool for catalog and product set management or for editing an existing ad's copy in place; you do those in Ads Manager.

Claude does not just read, it acts
Plenty of Meta connectors return numbers and stop there. With Tecrube, reading the report and acting on it happen in the same conversation: Claude lists your campaigns with recent spend, clicks, orders and revenue, shows ROAS and the change against the previous period in a period report, and then pauses, resumes or changes the daily budget of the campaign you pick. It can break the report down by age, gender or placement, and rank the top creatives in a placement such as Reels by ROAS or CPA.
An account hygiene audit runs from the same place, listing campaigns that spend without results, setups missing a budget or spend cap, and pending approvals, in order of priority. Pausing the ad sets whose CPA is above your threshold and moving their budget in one action is a single sentence too. It reads lead form results as counts by day, ad and platform, and never pulls people's answers.
Every write is previewed before it lands
Claude never spends your money quietly. A change is shown to you first: which campaign, which field, the current value and the new one. Nothing reaches Meta until you approve it, and that approval is enforced on the server.
A single budget increase above 50 percent is refused, and a budget can at most double within 24 hours. Every applied action is written to the audit log with the previous value kept; reverting takes one sentence or one click in the dashboard, and Tecrube sends the real reverse request to the platform (the previous budget, a resume, removing an added negative). Actions with no reverse, such as a permanent removal, are flagged as irreversible in advance.
New campaigns start life as drafts
You describe the objective, the daily budget and the basic settings; Claude creates the campaign as a paused draft. Going live is a separate step that passes the same approval gate, so a draft does not spend anything until you say “publish it” and approve the preview.
You also change the draft's ad set targeting (location, age, gender, interests, audiences), placements, bid and schedule from the chat; interests are searched in Meta's taxonomy and you get a reach estimate before spending. Building a website-visitor audience from the pixel and a 1–10% lookalike of it, or testing a winning ad set as a paused copy on a new audience, is one request each.
Copy and creative without leaving the chat
Describe your brand profile once (sector, products, audience, tone) and Claude drafts headlines, primary text and calls to action for Facebook and Instagram to match. The content studio produces images, short videos, UGC-style videos, voice-overs and scripts; a script comes back immediately, files take a few minutes.
Your images become a carousel ad with 2–10 cards, and an existing video in the account becomes a video ad; your most engaging Instagram or Facebook post can be boosted into an ad. An existing ad's copy is not changed in place; new copy arrives with a new ad.
Rules and a spend guard
Turn a sentence such as “pause a campaign if its cost per order goes above target” into an automation rule. If the rule is set to ask, every trigger lands in your approval list; in automatic mode it applies only within the limits of the spend guard.
In the spend guard you set daily and monthly caps, a target CPA and your margin. That way it is clear how far spend can go even when you are not watching the dashboard.
Meta is not the only account Claude reaches
The same connection covers Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, TikTok Ads and LinkedIn Ads, plus Search Console, GA4, Tag Manager and YouTube. An honest answer to “which channel is working?” needs more than one channel at the table, so you compare Meta with search in a single question.
Customer messages from Messenger and Instagram also show up in the same chat through the inbox tools; Claude only sends a reply that you dictated or approved.
Set it up in 60 seconds
- 1. Add the connector to Claude: on claude.ai or in the desktop app, go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste https://tecrube.com/api/v1/mcp and sign in with your Tecrube account. There is nothing to download and no configuration file to edit.
- 2. Connect your Meta ad account: ask Claude in the chat to connect Meta. It returns an authorisation link; the connection is made once you sign in with Facebook and grant permission. Nothing is connected until you sign in.
- 3. Ask for an inventory before you trust it: make your first message a question, not a change. Ask it to list the Meta campaigns it can see with spend over the last 14 days. If something you expected is missing, you find out before it matters.
- 4. Keep the first write small: pick something low-risk, such as pausing a clearly dead campaign, and watch the preview and approval step from start to finish. Once the flow is familiar, bigger changes stop feeling risky, because the gate is always the same.
Ask in plain English
- “List the campaigns in my connected Meta ad account with spend, orders and revenue for the last 14 days.”
- “Find campaigns that spent more than $200 in the last 7 days with zero sales, and show me the list before you pause anything.”
- “Raise the daily budget of the spring sale campaign by 20 percent and show me the preview.”
- “Create a paused Meta traffic campaign draft for the new collection, and ask me before it goes live.”
- “Draft three primary texts and three headlines for Instagram in our brand tone.”
- “Compare last month's cost per order on Meta with Google Ads and tell me where the next $1,000 should go.”
- “Build an audience of people who visited my site in the last 30 days, then a 1% lookalike of it in the US; show me the preview first.”
Frequently asked questions
Not on its own. Until you add a connector that gives it these tools, Claude has no access to your Facebook or Instagram ad account. Tecrube is a hosted connector: you paste one address into Claude's connector settings and authorise your Meta account; from then on Claude reads reports and makes changes, each one previewed before it applies.
It works at campaign and ad set level: on campaigns, pause and resume, budget, name, bid strategy and spend cap; on ad sets, budget, status, targeting, placements, bid and schedule; duplicating a winning ad set as a paused copy; pausing ad sets above a CPA threshold and moving their budget; creating website (pixel) and lookalike audiences; building carousel and video ads and boosting an Instagram or Facebook post; creating a paused draft campaign and publishing it with approval. On the read side there are campaign, ad set and ad reports broken down by age, gender and placement, top creatives, the audience list, interest search, reach estimates, lead form summaries and an account audit. If you have several ad accounts, you pick the one to work in from the chat. On top of that come ad copy drafts, content generation, automation rules and the spend guard.
Yes, and we would rather say so plainly: there is no catalog or product set management and no dynamic (Advantage+ catalog) campaign setup, and it cannot edit an existing ad's copy in place; new copy arrives with a new ad. You do those in Ads Manager. On lead forms it reads counts only and never pulls people's answers. The Meta Ad Library is a public Meta tool that you browse yourself; if a research provider is configured, Claude can run web research on competitors. A request outside the toolset is never half-applied in silence; it comes back as a clear limit.
You do not need to configure anything; the approval gate is on by default. Writes are shown to you before they run, nothing applies without your explicit approval, a single budget increase above 50 percent is refused, and every applied change lands in the audit log. You can also set daily and monthly spend caps. Read-only questions run straight away, since they cannot change anything.
No. There is no developer app to register, no access token to generate and no server of your own. Authorisation runs through the standard Meta consent screen that opens from the link Claude gives you.
There is a free trial of 75 credits that never expire, with no card required. After that, Pro is $49 per month (5,000 credits a month) and Agency is $99 per month (unlimited credits, multiple client accounts). One plan covers every live ad network, with no per-network fee.
