Claude for marketing: from drafting copy to running the account

Most marketing teams treat Claude as a writer. It drafts, it summarises the meeting, it brainstorms campaign angles. Then the real work starts somewhere else: someone opens the ad platform, downloads a report, reads it row by row and makes the change by hand.

Tecrube closes that gap. You add one connector address to Claude and authorise your ad accounts; from then on Claude reads live numbers, finds the search terms that burn budget and puts every proposed change in front of you as a preview first. Nothing is written to the account until you approve it.

7 October 2026

It reads the account itself, not a screenshot

Ask what happened last month and Claude goes straight to the account: spend, clicks, orders, revenue and ROAS per campaign, with the change against the previous period. No CSV export, no pasting a table into the chat, no relying on a report someone built months ago.

If an account is not connected or the data you asked for does not exist, the tool says so plainly. Gaps are never filled with estimated numbers; what you get back is either real data or an explanation of why there is none.

Wasted spend found and cut in the same conversation

The classic monthly chore is pulling the Google Ads search terms report and picking the queries to exclude from hundreds of rows. Ask for it in one sentence and you get the terms that spent money without converting, ranked by cost.

Then tell Claude which ones to add as campaign-level negative keywords. The addition comes back as a preview first and is written to Google Ads only after you approve it.

Five ad networks behind one connection, not just Google

Google Ads, Meta Ads, Microsoft Advertising, TikTok Ads and LinkedIn Ads all sit behind the same connection. A question like “where is our cost per result worst this month?” gets one answer instead of four dashboards and a spreadsheet.

How deep it goes depends on the platform, but none of them stops at campaign level. Google Ads has bid strategies, keywords, negative lists, responsive search ads, extensions and Performance Max asset groups; Meta has ad set targeting, website and lookalike audiences, and carousel and video ads; Microsoft Advertising, TikTok and LinkedIn have ad group, targeting and audience tools.

Measurement lives in the same chat

Search Console, GA4, Tag Manager, YouTube and Business Profile connect as well. That matters, because the reason a campaign slips is often not in the ad account at all: it is a broken conversion tag or a landing page that lost its ranking.

Claude can set GA4 next to Google Ads, verify the conversion tag in Tag Manager, and list the Search Console pages that are losing clicks while showing which of them also run ads.

Nothing changes without your say-so

Every write returns a preview first, showing what changes, in which account, from the current value to the new one, and the approval is enforced on the server. A single budget increase above 50 percent is refused, and a budget can at most double within 24 hours, so a misread sentence cannot multiply your spend overnight.

Every action is written to an audit log with the previous value kept; reverting takes one sentence or one click in the dashboard, and Tecrube sends the real reverse request to the platform (the previous budget, a resume, removing an added negative). Actions with no reverse, such as a permanent removal, are flagged as irreversible in advance. If you like, set an approval policy that applies small changes automatically and always asks about the rest.

The same connection works in Claude Code and beyond

If your team lives in the terminal, one command registers the connector in Claude Code, and the agent that already reads your repository gains ad tools. Handy when you want an audit that is scripted and repeatable rather than clicked through.

The connector is built on the Model Context Protocol, so the same address works in ChatGPT developer mode and in Cursor. You do not need a separate account per assistant.

Set it up in 60 seconds

  • 1. Add the connector to Claude: go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste https://tecrube.com/api/v1/mcp and sign in with your Tecrube account. In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http tecrube https://tecrube.com/api/v1/mcp instead and authenticate with /mcp.
  • 2. Connect the accounts it may touch: ask in the chat to connect your Google Ads account. Claude returns an authorisation link, and nothing is connected until you sign in and approve. Repeat for Meta, Microsoft, TikTok or LinkedIn if you advertise there too.
  • 3. Start with a read, then make one change: ask for last month's performance first and check the numbers against what you already know. Then ask for one small change, look at the preview and approve it. That single loop tells you more about whether to trust it than any feature list.

Ask in plain English

  • “What did we spend last month across Google, Meta, Microsoft, TikTok and LinkedIn, and which one had the worst cost per result?”
  • “Pull the search terms from the last 30 days and show me the queries that cost money and never converted.”
  • “Add these queries as campaign-level negative keywords, but show me the preview first.”
  • “Our conversions dropped last week. Compare GA4 with Google Ads, check the conversion tag in Tag Manager and tell me where the break is.”
  • “Based on our brand profile, draft three headlines and two descriptions for a new search campaign.”
  • “Compare this month with last month and tell me what actually changed, not just the percentages.”

Frequently asked questions

It can change them, and how far it goes depends on the platform. On every ad network it can pause and resume campaigns, change daily budgets and create a paused draft campaign; going live is a separate, approved step. Google Ads adds search term analysis, bid strategies, keyword and negative management, responsive search ads, extensions, conversion actions and Performance Max; Meta adds ad sets, audiences and carousel/video ads; Microsoft Advertising, TikTok and LinkedIn also have ad group, targeting and audience tools. Every write returns a preview first and is applied only after you approve it.

Without a connection Claude cannot see your account, so it writes from whatever you tell it. With one, it reads live data before it advises: a budget suggestion rests on today's cost per result, and a copy draft rests on your brand profile and the campaigns that actually perform. You can have a draft built as a new ad, with your approval. No platform's existing ad copy is changed in place; to refresh weak headlines on Google Ads, Tecrube creates a new responsive search ad with the new set and pauses the old one, in a single request.

Yes. In the Claude app you add a custom connector under Settings; in Claude Code you run claude mcp add --transport http tecrube https://tecrube.com/api/v1/mcp and authenticate with /mcp. You can also use a key from dashboard › Account › API in an Authorization: Bearer header. The address is the same in ChatGPT developer mode and Cursor, and the approval gate behaves the same everywhere.

The real risk is an assistant spending money before you see it. Three safeguards address that: every write is previewed first, nothing is applied without your explicit approval, and a single budget increase above 50 percent is refused outright. You can also set daily or monthly spend caps; every action lands in the audit log with its previous value, and reverting takes one sentence or one click in the dashboard, sent to the platform as a real reverse request.

No. That requirement is what slows self-hosted MCP servers down: a developer token is a separate application with its own approval wait. Here the whole setup is pasting one address and signing in with the account that already has access to the ad account. Agencies on a manager account (MCC) connect the same way and switch between client accounts from the chat.

The trial is free and asks for no card: you get 75 credits that never expire, enough for a real audit and a few changes. After that, Pro is $49 per month (5,000 credits a month) and Agency is $99 per month (unlimited credits, multiple clients and MCC). Reads cost fewer credits than writes, and looking at the dashboard costs none.
