Connecting Google Tag Manager
Connect your GTM containers; manage tags, triggers and variables, publish versions and roll back when needed.
Before you start
Tag Manager asks for its own edit and publish scopes, so it connects separately even when Google Ads is already connected. The connected Google account needs Edit permission on the container and Publish permission to publish versions.
Connection
- Connections › Tag Manager › Connect; pick the Google account with access to the container.

Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| A container is not listed | The selected Google account has no access to the container, or GTM is not connected | Grant access under GTM › Admin › User management; complete Connections › Tag Manager. |
| The wrong version was published | Versions got mixed up when approving the publish | Say "revert the last GTM publish"; revert_gtm_version returns to the previous version. |
